I have so many lovely childhood memories of visiting Aunt Annie, Uncle Wilfred and my cousins on the farm.
I had so much fun with my sister's brother's and my many cousins Lol
I loved spending time on the farm and especially loved all the animals
Always an adventure to be had
Cousin Kim and I being chased by the pigs into the barn and yelling for Uncle Wilfred to come rescue us. Walking the boards to the barn losing my balance and my boot in what the cows had left for me.
My brother Bill and his mishap with the Apple tree losing his swim trunks on a branch and then having to run back to the house in his birthday suit
hiding behind a Bush
then desperately yelling for Aunt Annie to throw him a towel.
Cousin Jim still remembers the time my brothers and he convinced me to take that fateful ride in that baby carriage with the wooden board on the bottom pulled by was it 1 or 2 big dogs being enticed by wieners at the bottom of the hill just to make sure that they ran faster.
Let's just say I will never forget that ride or the peels of laughter as the wooden board slid out and my bottom dragged along the gravel road to the wiener finish line at warp speed.
Then my mother Helene taking me down to the lake with a bar of soap to wash my behind. Yes I'm sure we can all share a funny story about the farm.
To be honest the chickens freaked me out a little and I was a bit frightened of them
Trying to get eggs was a bit intimidating to say the least
Seeing Uncle Wilfred milk the cows made it look so easy untill I tried it.
All the baby kittens and dogs were a favorite of mine. Summer days spent swimming and laughing with my cousins.
Exploring the pastures or riding the hay wagon being pulled by Beautiful horses named Diamond and Britt and then Queen and Pearl. I would climb way up on a big fence to sit and gaze in wonder and awe at how Gigantic they were to me.
I remember my Mom laughing and yelling at Bobby to slow down the tractor as he mischievously drove through some mud.
Instead of slowing down he sped up and laughed even harder. Lol
Many meals served at the long family kitchen table heads bowed in prayer as Uncle Wilfred's gentle calm voice said the meal prayer. What I wouldn't give to hear him say it one more time.
Homemade foods lovingly prepared
with a mother's hardworking hands
My cousins Adeline, Aggie, Sheila,Judy
by her side to help her. Also the long hours no doubt put in by my cousins David, Gary, Bobby, Bill & Jim, to help their Dad on the farm.
I didn't realize how much hard work went into running a farm.
Remembering Aunt Annie's massive Gardens gains my deep respect for her many talents . Adeline's love of cooking and baking I'm sure comes from her Mom
As I'm sure that each and everyone of her children and grandchildren will carry on and share many of their parents family traditions and wisdom passed down through generations. We need to keep their memories alive by sharing them.
I feel very blessed to have such great memories of my Uncle Wilfred ,Aunt Annie and many cousins
I will treasure them all the days of my life. Sending Love and prayers to my cousins and all of their families
May you gain comfort and strength
in each other at this sad and difficult time.
Love Brenda Ken Jake and Cole xoxo
Please I encourage family to share a fond memory Thank you

Some of my fondest childhood memories of spending time at the farm ! Aunt Annie whipping up dinner for unexpected visitors or in the garden picking fresh veggies or grabbing eggs from the hen house. A kind gentle soul with enough love to share with anyone who came to visit. A heart of gold, always a kind word, a prayer for anyone that needed one. A dedicated and loving woman that will always be remembered. May God keep you safe, may you be reunited with all your loved ones. Thank you for being such a special woman. Our world was better with you in it. Much love.
