Obituary for Arnold John O'Grady

With sadness we announce the passing of Arnold O’Grady on February 4, 2021. Son of the late P.J. and Clara O’Grady (Holly), will be forever remembered by his wife Helen O’Grady (Quinn). Loving father of Mary Lou, Claire and Erin (Carl Bimm). Cherished grandfather to Quinn, Mitchell, Carleigh, Connor, Cara and Cassie. His sisters and brothers are going to miss him greatly – Grace (Dwight Neddow), Sister Zita g.s.i.c, Jack (Joyce), and Preston (Kathleen) along with brother in-law Ray (Helen) Quinn. Predeceased by daughter Sheila, as well as brothers Pat (Sheila) and Archie (Florence) and brothers-in-law Father Jack Quinn and Leo (Marilyn) Quinn.
Family and life-long friends will miss chats in the backyard, cabin, cottage and hunt camp. His nieces and nephews will miss his sly sense of humour. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1549, a favourite companion and shenanigan participant at family gatherings, an inspector of farm and bush land, small pond aficionado, card playing partner, fishing buddy, boat driver, appliance fixer, car mechanic, tree planter and budding pool shark.

The twinkly blue eyes have closed here on earth, but will shine on from above.

Professional services have been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville. A private visitation will take place on Monday February 8, 2021 before the private Funeral Mass which will be live streamed via the Zohr Family Funeral Home Facebook Page at 2pm from St. James the Less Catholic Church, Eganville. Another celebration of Arnold’s life will be planned when extended family and friends can gather together.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Nature Conservancy of Canada (acknowledging a long Ministry of Natural Resources career) or St. James the Less Roman Catholic Church.
