Obituary for Bert Roy Wasmund
Bert Wasmund passed away peacefully Saturday Morning May 22, 2021 at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus.
Survived by his beloved wife Lois Wasmund, his two beloved children Pamela Wasmund and Derek Wasmund (partner Alexandra), his two cherished grandsons Jason Meredith (wife Katherine) and Tyler Meredith and his two precious great grandsons Michael and James.
Predeceased by his mother Bella Budarick Wasmund and his father Reuben Wasmund and his beloved brother Gerald Wasmund, his brother Orville Wasmund and his sister Shirley McCumber.
Bert Wasmund grew up in Palmer Rapids and always had fond memories of his early life on the farm with his family. He worked at the mill in Palmer Rapids early on, then moved to Ottawa with his wife Lois and had a long career at Consumers' Gas. He started his family at the home he built in Kanata.
Bert's life was made up of family, friends, church, and the outdoors.
Bert was always very caring and generous to everyone he knew and to people he did not know.
Bert loved spending time with his family, spending time at his cottage, hockey, fishing and hunting. Bert took great pride in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Professional services have been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Killaloe, Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Community Wesleyan Church in Palmer Rapids on Saturday, June 12, 2021
