April 15, 1959 - April 17, 2023
Bruce passed away peacefully in the Ottawa General Hospital with his wife by his side in the morning of Monday, April 17, 2023 a few days after his 64th birthday. Beloved husband of Laura Lee (Smith), Bruce was a proud father to Erika Shirley Ruth McFarlane, Dominic Bruce McFarlane and Raine Donald McFarlane.
He was the beloved son of Minerva Ruth McFarlane (Zohr) and the late Donald Daniel McFarlane. He was survived by his siblings, Laura Gerow (Dwight), Karen Rosien (Bob), Debbie Brooks (John) and Glenn McFarlane (Elizabeth). He was a brother-in-law to Susan Moreau (Joe), Larry Smith (Margaret), Lawson Smith (Elva), Steve Smith (Sheryl), James Smith (Heather) and Cecille Smith (Simon). He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents-in-law Elwood and Shirley Smith.
Bruce was a small engine mechanic at the family business Don McFarlane & Sons Ltd. up until April 2022 when he had to take an early retirement because of his health issues.
Bruce's final care has been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville where a private family viewing will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Eganville on the morning of Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 11am.
