Obituary for Charlotte Lehmann

LEHMANN, Charlotte Ann
July 21, 1948 - January 27, 2023

Charlotte passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Friday, January 27, 2023. Beloved wife of Harris Lehmann and mother of Olga Lehmann-Merchant (Bernard Merchant) of Banff, Alberta. Fondly remembered by first cousin and childhood friend, Leroy Kruger of Peterborough, Ontario.

Charlotte was born July 21, 1948 to the late Herman and Bernice (nee Layman) Kruger of Pembroke, Ontario. Charlotte spent many winters in arenas around the Ottawa Valley teaching figure skating to local youth and later power skating to future NHL players in Renfrew. When the winter season ended, she continued with summer skating school at the PMC in Pembroke, her home club while growing up. Charlotte served as councillor on the North Algona Wilberforce Township Council.

Her greatest accomplishment was venturing into the partnership of Lehmann Red Angus, in 1974 which lasted 46 years. Red Angus cattle were shipped as far as Sao Paulo, Brazil and many business relationships and friendships formed across the U.S. and Canada. On the side, there was sweet corn, potatoes and pumpkins that were grown for local grocery stores. When time permitted, she enjoyed collecting and restoring antiques, loved landscape design and growing flowers.

Professional arrangements entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville. As per Charlotte's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Queensway Carleton Hospital, ICU in her memory. Tributes, condolences and donations may be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com
