Obituary

After a short battle with cancer, Christel passed away peacefully at Hospice Renfrew, Wednesday May 5, 2021 and went home to be with her Saviour, Jesus Christ. Predeceased by her husband Paddy Bailey, and sister Brigitta. She is survived by her son Louis Neumann (Lisa), her daughter Angela Bemister (Stephen), her grandchildren Corry, Alex, Morgan, Ethan, and Linden as well as her sisters Vera and Annita.

The family would sincerely like to thank the amazing staff at Hospice Renfrew for their phenomenal and heartfelt care and compassion during Christel’s stay there. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation to Hospice Renfrew in memory of Christel.

Honouring Christel’s wishes, there will be a simple private burial service with immediate family present only. Thank you to Pastor Carl Morgan and also Zohr Family Funeral Home for their professional services.

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” (Psalm 116:15)

Our deepest sympathies to the family. She will be surely missed. We spent many wonderful times together at the cottage and her place. Will miss her hugs, laughs, shopping and even the day us ladies got lost in a thunderstorm. She was special and we will always hold those memories close to our hearts. Rest in peace dear Christel. My deepest sympathies to the family. I didn't know Christel very long but in the short time that I knew her I know that I will always be thinking of her in a special way. A very friendly and caring lady, never to complain when I helped to look after her. Always a smile on her face, and a story to be told. Donna Resmer

Christel was a light at the end of a dark tunnel. After losing mom ( her sister ) and receiving a cancer diagnosis, she was there for myself and my father. It didn’t matter whether it was day or night. Even though she suffered at times she was selfless, putting the needs of others ahead of herself. Always self assured and guided by her strong faith and strong character, she meant more to us then she’ll ever know. Rest peacefully until we meet again.
Thoughts to Lue, Angie and families.

My deepest sympathy to Louis, Lisa, Angie, Stephen and families. Christel wasn't only an amazing person, she was an amazing friend that I will remember deeply for all the great times we had together....going out for high tea which she greatly enjoyed to visiting open houses at Christmas time to share in the excitement of the season and to share endless hours of conversation about her family and just how much she loved each and everyone of them so deeply during her hair appointments. Rest in peace my amazing friend....peace has be granted to you, until we meet again!!

Christel was a blessing to know and she will be greatly missed at Faith Baptist Church, but because she knew Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour she is now present with the LORD (2 Corinthians 5:6-8). Her passing just makes our anticipation of Heaven that much greater! We pray God's blessing upon her family as they cope with her absence until that bright and glorious morning when they can see her again.
