Obituary

Our loss is heaven’s gain.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lloyd Regan, peacefully at home on Thursday, January 21, 2021 after a long battle with cancer surrounded by his family. Lloyd was born in Renfrew, Ontario on September 8, 1947 and grew up in Ferguslea to the late Patrick & Alice Regan.

Loving husband of JoAnn Regan (Remus) for 47 years, father of Paul (Kerrie McMillan), Kerri, and Stephanie (Steven) Jessup. Doting Papa to Hope & Taylor Jessup, Harper Regan and his chosen granddaughters Hannah, Holly & Haylee McMillan. Predeceased by brothers Kenneth (late Irene), Gary (Rose), Donald (Shirley), Earl (Dianne), Jack, Ronnie (Dale), and Bill (Judy). Lovingly remembered by brother Barry (Diane), sisters Margaret (Bernard) Gerritse and Sandra, brother-in-law Eldon (Janice), special friend Nelson (Judy) Kunopaski, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Lloyd worked for more than 50 years in the construction industry, operating heavy equipment from Ottawa to the Beaufort Sea. Lloyd and his wife JoAnn have resided at Lyndock Lakes for more than 30 years.

Lloyd's final care and cremation has been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Killaloe. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions services will be postponed to the spring time. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Madawaska Valley Hospice (St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation) or the Lyndock Baptist Church in memory of Lloyd. Tributes, condolences and donations can be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com

A special thanks to Dad’s various care providers who supported him through his battle. Dr. Christina Canil, from the Ottawa Hospital Regional Cancer Centre, the chemotherapy team at Renfrew Victoria Hospital, the nurses from Bayshore Homecare Solutions with a special thanks to Kirsten and Emma and the wonderful care of the Madawaska Valley Health Team.

Mary and I are so sorry for your loss!
We spend 7 short years visiting our property on Lyndoch lake ...Lloyd was one of the first to welcome us.
His kindness and sense of humour told me this was a good place to visit ...that belief was further born out as we meet Lloyd and JoAnn's extended family. Although life events caused us to move on from Lyndoch Lake, we have fond memories of the people and place.

My brother and I grew up with Lloyd, Ronnie and Bill long ago, in another time. I hope your dad and your grandpa told you all about making slingshots, playing cowboys and Indians, and catching mudpout. There were so many more kids in places like Ferguslea then, and we were outside, making our own fun, and sometimes getting in a little trouble. No computers and cell phones, but more freedom. I'm happy to hear that Lloyd made a good life and has a loving family.

We are so sorry and sending thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Lloyd fought a good fight! We will miss the stories and visits. Sure hoping for a better new year and that we can travel to Lyndoch. Hugs, Nancy Hall and Chuck and Randi Ferline.
