Obituary for Daniel Lennard Contant

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Lennard Contant on January 20, 2022 at his home. He was an easygoing quick-witted spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many. Daniel was born on February 28, 1943 in Nairn, Scotland and came to Canada at age 3. He served in the Canadian military before returning to his hometown of Eganville and starting his long career as a bricklayer. In 1969 Daniel married Cecelia Dellaire and went on to have three children that they raised on his family homestead at Constant Creek. In his retirement he spent his days in his “shop” working on one of his many mechanical or wood working projects. His evenings were spent in his favourite chair with a good book. Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Patrick (Lornie) and Jessie and his son Shane. He is survived by his devoted wife Cecelia and his daughters Pamela (Peter) and Paula (Lee). His five doting grandchildren Kaylee (Ian), Abigail, Domanic, Ava, and Jack. His loving siblings Joyce (Ray), Patrick (Margaret) Patricia and Laura (George).

He will be waked in Eganville at Zohr Family Funeral Home, on Monday from 3:00pm-7:00pm and Tuesday from 9:30am-10:30am.
(For those wishing to attend visitation, please RSVP in 'Service Details' below or by calling 613-628-2334).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday January 25, 2022 at 11:00am at St. James the Less Catholic Church. Spring interment St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Autism Canada. Daniel had a strong connection to both of these organizations.
