It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ted (Ernest) Proctor, surrounded by his family at Renfrew Victoria Hospital on February 10, 2022 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Mavis for 37 years. Loving father of Brad (Nadia), Nicholas, Cody (Hope), Cole, and Caylan (Patrick). Proud grandfather of Alyssa, Rowan, Olivia, Grace, and Theo. Predeceased by parents Dorothy (Totten) and Oswald Proctor. He will be dearly missed by many extended family members, friends, and fellow musicians.

Born and raised in Renfrew, Ted loved fishing and camping, with nearly 50 years well-spent at his favourite place in the world, Ferguson Lake Campground. One of Ted’s greatest passions was music. Well-known and respected, Ted sang and played guitar on many stages and around many campfires through the years. He enjoyed country and bluegrass festivals surrounded by family and friends. Above all else, Ted loved his family. His wife, children, and grandchildren truly were the joy of his life. Ted was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by so many who had the pleasure to know him. May the music play on in his honour.

As per Ted’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service at this time. A graveside service will take place in the spring of 2022 at North Horton Cemetery. A Celebration of Life filled with music will be arranged in the coming months.
