Gerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was passionate about his faith, his family, and his farm. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, riding his "black bullet" bike, reading, and talking with his friends. He was always ready to lend a hand, share a joke, or offer a word of encouragement.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marina, and their children Reverend Anthony Burchat, John (Miriam), Joseph (Colleen), Catherine (John Sawchuk), Gabriel (Kristen), James (Stephanie), William (Emily), Anne, Nathaniel, and Jeremy. He also leaves behind a legacy for his grandchildren Lucille, Sybil, Adeline, Peter, Edison, Zelie, Georgia, and Caroline.

The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for all the prayers and support Gerry has received in the last year, including all the professional and passionate care from the St Francis Memorial Hospital and Pembroke Regional Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Casimir's Catholic Church, Round Lake Centre on Monday October 30, 2023 at 11am followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
