July 15, 1962 - January 9, 2023
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of James Edward Laing on Monday January 9, 2023 in Dacre Ontario. James is the beloved son of John Francis (predeceased) and Arvilla (Collins) Laing. Brother to Dan (Leslie Steel) and their children Victoria and Kieran. We are so sad that he missed meeting his great nephew Fox who was born the next day. He will be missed and mourned by Lina Steel and the Steel Family. James graduated from Opeongo High School and attended the Eganville Baptist Church. He was an avid reader, and a loyal Ottawa Senators Fan and could recite the name and number of each player by memory. He was very interested in all his nephew Kieran’s activities and was always his
greatest side kick at Logosland. He was kind and cheerful, and had a healthy appetite for humour. We will dearly miss his phone calls and the weekly hockey and food reports that he so loved to share. Rest Easy Jimmy you are very loved!
Friends and family are welcome to gather at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew on Thursday, January 12, 2023 for visitation from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm. A brief visitation will be held Friday morning from 10:00am until time of service in the Zohr Family Chapel at 11:00am.
