Obituary for Katherine Anne Montgomery (Shaver)

Katherine Anne Sauve "Kathy"
September 6, 1947 - April 26, 2023

Katherine passed away peacefully in her sleep at Groves Park Lodge in Renfrew on April 26, 2023 at the age of 75 years. Dear mother of Norma, Ronald "Sonny" (Lynn) Shaver, Edward "Eddie" Shaver and Matthew (Lacey) Montgomery. Grandmother to Shane, Cassandra, Kaila, Sarah, Ashley, Sean, Kassandra (Chris), Sebastien, Crystal (Tee), Justin, Tyler, Violet, Octavia and Xander. Great grandmother to many little ones. Sister of Dixon Shaver, Dwaine Shaver, Millie (Mike Hamilton) Shaver, Carol Shaver and Eileen Shaver. Predeceased by both her parents, her brother's Dennis Shaver, Ronald "Ronnie" Shaver, Doug Shaver and her sister Jeannie Shaver.

She will be greatly missed by so many, her absence is felt all around but she lives on in all her extended family and people that knew her. She wouldn’t want any of us to be sad for long. She would want us all to laugh and be happy. To live our lives as if she is still with us every day.

Katherine was a hard worker who started at a very young age, looking after all of her siblings and as the years went on, she continued looking after many including her own children and some of their friends, making meals for everyone. She loved making blankets, colouring her word searches and bingo. One thing she loved was Tim Hortons coffee. She would always joke with us that if we got her 12 donuts, she would eat them herself. She loved her 2 cats very much, Zoey and Chloe.

Professional arrangements entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 from 12:00-5:00 pm at Vincent Massey Park in Ottawa for family and friends. It will be a potluck style. The Burial service to lay her to rest beside both Leo & John (Chenier) hasn’t been set yet. We will reach out to the people that want to be there as soon as we have a date and time. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Valley Animal Rescue. Tributes, condolences and donations may be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com
