Obituary for Kenneth Wallace Scheer

We were sadden by the death of our brother Kenneth Wallace Scheer on January 18th, 2021, in his 91st year.
Born in Eganville, Ken left after graduating high school to join the Royal Canadian Airforce. He was stationed at local bases such as Uplands, Ottawa, Bagotville, Quebec, Trenton, and overseas at France and Germany. He rose to the rank of Sergeant. He retired in Trenton, Ontario.
After health issues he was admitted to the Westlake Terrace Retirement Home in 2010, in Prince Edward County, Picton, Ontario, County Road 12, where he resided until his passing.
Ken was always of a cheerful demeanor, and always delighted to engage with family or those around him in conversation.
Ken was predeceased by his wife Jeannine (Sharron). Two stepdaughters survive him, Carolle (Dave) Down, of Trenton, Ontario and Claudette of Montreal, Quebec.
His parents Herman and Edna (Jahn), his sister, Jean (Victor) Vaillancount, and his brother, Glenn, also predeceased him. Sister, Doris (Willard) Brash, Pembroke, Ontario, brother Franklyn (Marilyn), Eganville, and many nieces, nephews and cousins survive him.
A special mention to brevet Colonel (Hank) Handke, who was a life-long friend who never ceased to keep in touch with Ken and visit him at least once a year, especially during the “Family Day” celebrations put on by the Home.
Professional services have been entrusted to the Rushnell Funeral Home in Belleville, Ontario, in conjunction with the Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville, Ontario. Cremation has taken place.
In memory of Ken please consider a donation to the Grace Lutheran Church, Eganville. Tributes and condolences can be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com.
