Obituary for Lois Mary Butson (Utronki)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lois Butson on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022. Beloved and lifelong partner of Bill Butson for 61 years. Dearest mother to Kim Vandewouw (Jim), Kate Anderson (late Des) and Michael (Christine). Doting Nanna to Mandy (Johan), Nicole (Brent), Amy and Marlee who were her pride and joy. Lois was the daughter of the late Bunny and Pearl Utronki of Renfrew Ontario. Survived by sister Connie (Jack Richards) and her brother Frank Utronki. Predeceased by sisters Barb Storie (Bob), Gayle Miller (Doug) and brother Al Utronki (late Bev). Loved by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

For over thirty years, Lois worked alongside Bill, running the family owned business, Butson's Valley Motor Hotel. Following her work at the hotel, Lois ventured into the real estate business, successfully being a team member at Renfrew RE/MAX, putting her clients interests first. Lois also gave back to her community, volunteering numerous hours at both Hospice Renfrew and the Renfrew Food Bank. Lois was very much focused on her family. She loved big family gatherings, acting as the host to a number of these events. Lois could also be seen in the audience beaming at every event her grandchildren participated in....she never missed one. Lois was very passionate about the game of golf. She was a member at the Renfrew Golf Club for over fifty years, making too many friends to count, and looked up to by all. Lois had a great sense of humour and loved a good joke, the more risqué the better. All Lois' friends know it is a privilege to call her their friend. She will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation for Lois will be held at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday morning at 11am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Renfrew. Immediately following the mass, we ask all her friends to gather at the Renfrew Golf Course, from 12 - 4pm to celebrate Lois' wonderful life. Those desiring may make donations in memory of Lois to Hospice Renfrew or the Renfrew Food Bank online at
