Obituary for Myrtle Golda Byers (Roesner)

BYERS, Myrtle Golda

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother on October 20, 2022 at Caressant Care, Cobden. Mom was the second eldest child of Robert and Esther Roesner (nee Resmer), born March 23, 1922, on a farm in South Algona Township. Wife of the late Harold Byers. Loving mother of Jacqueline (Stewart), Gwendolyn (Dolton), Carolyn (Dean), Arnold (Roxanne) and Edward (Lorna). She will be dearly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Myrtle is survived by her sisters Ruth Rice, Colette Simpson and Lois Goodman. She is predeceased by her grandson Jason Byers and great grandchild Ebony Dubé as well as her sisters Adeline Zohr, Irene Bimm, Frances Tennant, and Audrey Whitworth, and brothers Verner, Walter, Gordon and Osborne.

Mom took pride in her walking club and horticulture society, frequented the library and strived to make our world a better place. She was a faithful member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and ladies aid.

Professional arrangements entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville. To honour Myrtle's wishes, a quiet and private family visitation and funeral will be held at Zohr Family Funeral Home on Friday, October 28, 2022 followed by burial at St. Luke's Cemetery, Eganville. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Eganville. Tributes, condolences and donations may be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com
