Obituary for Olive Mary Ellen Shannon
SHANNON, Olive Mary (nee Roach)
Peacefully at Renfrew Victoria Hospital with family by her side on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the age of 87 years. Loving wife of the late Jack Shannon and dear mother of Doug (Jane, predeceased), Connie, Gary (predeceased), John (Lynn) and Brian (Julia). Proud and loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren (one predeceased) and 12 great-grandchildren.
"Mothers hold their children’s hands for just a little while….

Olive was raised on a farm near the village of Haley Station, by her parents, Edward and Ellen (Coyne) Roach. She was a sister to 7 siblings. Survived by her brothers Lacey (late Kathleen) and Jim (Alice). Predeceased by Carmel (late Omer Pigeon), Herb, Rita (late Leonard Lemenchick), Alban (late Joan) and Ray (survived by Dorothy). A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Parish in the future, followed by a private interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Renfrew. Special thanks to Dr. Stephanie Langlois and her staff for the excellent care, compassion and assistance given to Olive and her family over many months. Thanks to the Palliative Care Team at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital for the medical attention and comfort provided to Olive during her stay in the hospital.
Donations to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital or the Ottawa Heart Institute can be made in memory of Olive.
