Obituary for Penny Elizabeth Ryan (Anderson)

RYAN, Penny Elizabeth (Anderson)
February 6, 1960 - March 15, 2023

Heaven received a feisty angel when Penny received her angel wings on the evening of March 15, 2023 with her mom Gladys Sidock (Doug), her sister and bestie Patti Dillabough (Bob) by her side while her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs were playing on the TV in the background.

Penny will be greatly missed by her son Michael "Mikey" Ryan. Her love for her son was steadfast. Penny will leave a void in the life of her niece Paige Dillabough (Pierre) and her nephew Garry Dillabough (Jackie). Penny adored her Great nephew BODEN. His visits brightened her days. She is predeceased by her dad Garry "PORK" Anderson, Penny was looking forward to their heavenly reunion.
Family was everything to Penny and everyone she loved was considered family; the everlasting friendships with her childhood friends, her Rideau Regional crew where she worked for 30 years, all of the pageant girls who came into her life and the amazing folks in her neighbourhood, all were precious relationships to Penny!

But the greatest love of Penny’s life was her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. To say Penny was a diehard fan is a vast understatement. The message from Mitch Marner sent to Penny in her last days through the One Day Dream organization was the highlight of her life. She passed with a smile and a Go Leafs Go cheer on her lips.

A Visitation for Penny will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm and Monday morning from 9:30am until time of service in the Zohr Family Chapel at 11:00am. A celebration gathering will follow the service at the RCAF Wing Lounge.

As an expression of sympathy donations may be made in Penny’s memory to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation in recognition of the outstanding care Penny received while at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital or to Renfrew Hospice where Penny spent her final days under the watch of the amazing Earth Angels who looked after her there. Tributes, condolences and donations may be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com

Penny had one of those boisterous engaging personalities that was almost as big as her heart. She has left a void in the lives of everyone she touched. I am sure we will be able to hear our “Leaflet” (as she was affectionately called) cheering from above for the Leafs to win the cup!

Until we chat again……..
