October 25, 1965 - April 12, 2022
Peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 at the age of 56. Beloved wife of Tom Gill. Loving mother of Isaac (Rebecca), Nicholas and Sabrina. Proud grandmother to Leara. Dear aunt to Paige and Brandon. Predeceased by her parents Charles Scoyne and Reta Benner (nee Woolley), as well as her two brothers Mark and Danny. Sally will always be remembered by her extended family and a multitude of friends.
In Sally’s own words “being a Mom was my greatest accomplishment in life” and in the eyes of her kids, she was the very best. Sally opened her home to family and friends; she served more food than anyone could eat, always ensuring bellies were full and smiles were broad. She was more than just a Mom to her kids, she was a best friend. Sally only got to be a Grandma for a short while but her impression on her granddaughter will last a lifetime. She’s missed beyond measure and loved more than words can say.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the nurses and doctors at the Ottawa Hospitals and the Renfrew Victoria Hospital for their care of Sally.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew. Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be held in memory of Sally at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Renfrew Victoria Hospital Oncology and Home Care Department (Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation) or the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre and Thrombosis Department (The Ottawa Hospital Foundation).
