Much loved mother of Lynn Friedman (Jeff) of Mississauga, Beverly Oattes of Arnprior, Cheryl Somerville (Kelvin) of Olmstead-Jeffreys Lake, Lois Dunn (Lloyd) of Pembroke and Richard Brisco (Mary Catherine) of Renfrew. Devoted grandmother of Michael Friedman (Monique) of Toronto, Steven Friedman (Sarah) of Oakville, Jonathan Friedman (Sarah) of England, Laura Oattes of Pakenham, Janet and Tom Oattes of Arnprior, Erin Smith (Holden) of Bancroft, Jenna Burke (Kyle) of Kanata, Zachary Somerville of Haley Station, Rebecca & Krista Dunn of Pembroke, Evan, Adam and Chad Brisco of Renfrew. Loving great-grandmother to Peyton & Everett Smith, Bentley and Emma Burke, Isabella and Brielle Friedman, Isaac and James Friedman and Simon Friedman. She is survived by a sister Gladys Giffin (late Alvin) of Brockville and by sisters-in-law Olive Rivington, Janet Briscoe and Dorothy Willoughby, brother-in-law Harold Hamilton and by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers Arthur (late Golda), Ernest (late Mary) and Hubert (Dorothy) and by sisters Helene Maitland (late Bert) and Beth (Harold) Hamilton.
Lillian was the 5th child of John Willoughby and Hazel Campbell of Smith Falls.

Lillian was a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Renfrew Victoria Hospital of Nursing in 1952. She worked for a time at the Renfrew Hospital and later at the old Bonnechere Manor. She lived her entire married life in Northcote. Lillian was active in many community organizations, including the Northcote United Church, the United Church women, the Women's Institute, the Northcote Community Center, 4H and CGIT. Always generous with her time, she never failed to help friends and neighbours in need and gave willingly of her nursing and baking skills and of her fabulous flower gardens. When she retired, Lillian started a crafting club called The Northcote Artisanat Club which has been active since January of 1994. The group has made blankets and vests for under privileged children overseas and has given generously to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital as well. Lillian embroidered many quilts for her family and also generously donated quilts as fundraisers to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital and Sunshine Coach. Lillian and Cecil had a trailer for a while and loved to take it to parks where they enjoyed time with her sister Gladys and her husband Alvin Giffin. In 1990 Cecil and Lillian took a dream trip, a cruise to Alaska, with the Giffins. It truly was a trip to remember. Some years later she went to England, Ireland and Scotland on a trip with Loretta Rice. It was another memorable trip for her. In 2005 Lillian was honoured as the Township of Admaston-Bromley Senior Citizen of the Year.
